Course Description

This fully online, 50-hour TEYL Certificate Program is for educators with a TESOL certificate (or equivalent) who want to specialize in teaching English to young learners aged 4–12. It offers practical, research-based methods to create engaging, age-appropriate lessons. Through videos, projects, discussions, and observation tasks, participants gain hands-on skills and confidence to teach in classrooms or online.

Tuition

Course Modules

MODULE 1: Characteristics of Young Learners and How They Learn

MODULE 2: Teaching Language Skills to Young Learners                 

Mini-Project 1: Design a skills-based mini-lesson.

MODULE 3: Vocabulary, Grammar, and Pronunciation Instruction 

Mini-Project 2: Create a teaching scenario or checklist.

MODULE 4: Storytelling, Gamification, and Interactive Learning     

Mini-Project 3: Design a role-play or gamified ESL activity.

MODULE 5: Assessment & Classroom Observation Skills

Final Mini-Project: Observe 5 ESL/TEYL lessons and complete the observation template.

Enrollment Requirements

* Hold a TESOL certificate OR a related credential (e.g., B.A./M.A./Ph.D. in English or Education).

* Have an interest in teaching children ages 4–12 in ESL or EFL settings

This program has open enrollment and no fixed start date — you can begin anytime after a short 3-day admission process.

Delivery & Duration

* Mode: Fully online and asynchronous on Moodle

* Duration: Flexible – complete in 3 to 8 weeks

* Instructor Support: Two 1:1 sessions with an instructor available

Assessment & Certification

Participants complete 4 mini-projects, 5 quizzes, 5 forum posts, and 1 final observation project.

Upon completion, they receive:
