TESOL Certificate Program Overview

The online TESOL Certificate prepares new educators with essential skills for teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). The program includes seven key courses:


•TESOL 100: TESOL Basics - Core concepts, terminology, and classroom management.
•TESOL 110: Lesson Planning - Creating engaging lesson plans with technology and authentic materials.
•TESOL 120: Teaching Language Sub-Skills - Vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation instruction.
•TESOL 130: Teaching Listening & Reading Skills - Strategies for enhancing listening and reading comprehension.
•TESOL 140: Teaching Speaking & Writing Skills - Techniques for improving speaking and writing proficiency.
•TESOL 150: Assessment and Testing - ESL assessment methods and the role of technology in testing.
•TESOL 160: Technology & ESL - Online teaching methodologies and digital tool integration.

Program Hours

Total Program Hours: 140

• 120 hours of theory across seven courses
• 20 hours of supervised practicum

10 hours of observation
10 hours of teaching

Admission Requirements

Education:
• High school graduation in Canada with a grade of 70% in English 12
• An undergraduate degree from an English-speaking university

English Proficiency (One of the following):
• TOEFL iBT: 80 overall with a minimum of 20 in each area
• IELTS: 6.5 overall with a minimum score of 6.0 in each skill area
• Duolingo: 115

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria for admission: educational qualifications or English proficiency standards.

International Students: CAD $1850

Includes: Application fee, program textbook/handouts, online library access, and observation and practicum fees.
